November 4, 2008~Neutral spaces

Don't get me wrong. I love color. Just not in my own home. After being out all day in this crazy world, I want a calming place to come home to. I have tried painting walls red, etc. in my own home, but after a day or so, they always go back to my teepee brown by Behr! And, this is how it will stay.....I have added pops of green in some accents recently, but that's what is so nice about accents, you can change them out when you get tired of them! I hope you enjoy looking at some other neutral rooms that I just adore!

Hi Melaine, I found your blog tonight on RMS with the posting of your spectacular kitchen.~ Beautifully done!~ I have been a fan of all of your decorating skills since finding you on that site. The neutral rooms on your blog post tonight are so calming. Love their serene look. I'm very new to blogging and you are welcome to check mine out if you get a chance. ~Warmly, Melissa

You are speaking my language. Great pictures. Did you see Ina Garten's barn in House Beautiful? Very Natural, and calming too.

I've been neutral for years. I am an artist and I think that surprises people. BUT...neutral walls are great for showing off art work and for resting the mind. My go to color is by Sherwin Williams, it's called "urban putty". Love your spaces!

Hi, just came over from RMS. I am so glad you posted that you had a blog. I started visiting blogland after I posted on rms. I too have had a very posetive experience there. It is fun meeting new cyber-friends. I love your style it is so consistent and warm.I love a neutral room to look at but I have to admit I love color. I use a soft pallete with touches of black and white. I am like you a love typrography and I am always looking for new ways to use it in my home. I have a fascination with letters, numbers, and sillouettes. If you have any resources that you think are great I would love if you could share some. I am off to tour your blog. Thankyou again for sharing. smiles Kathysue:)

I agree with your theories about color! I just checked out your home on RMS and am officially in LOVE with your decorating! We have very similar tastes and styles. My home is primarily brown, off-white, and grey (I'll be uploading new pics soon). The rooms you uploaded on here are gorgeous! Hope you have a great weekend! :)
