PICTURES OF OUR TRANSFORMED CLOSET

OK, FINALLY GOT THE TARGET BENCH AND SHELF IN THE MAIL! LOVE THEM! BOY AM I GLAD I WENT WITH THEM INSTEAD OF PAYING AN ARM AND A LEG AT POTTERY BARN. THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME!

IF YOU MISSED THE POST ON THIS ORIGINALLY, WE TOOK THE DOORS OFF OUR COAT CLOSET, FOUND A NEW HOME FOR THE COATS, AND TRANSFORMED IT INTO THIS!

I ADDED THE BEAD BOARD AND TRIM AND MY HUSBAND PUT IN 3 CAN LIGHTS ON A DIMMER! TRIMMED IT OUT WITH ROUNDED CORNERS AND A LITTLE DRYWALL WORK, AND HERE YOU HAVE IT!

It looks wonderful!! I love that idea (looking for a place to ditch our coats as we speak, um write!)

Great pillows, too.

I have been looking at the same pieces on target.com so I am glad to see that someone else feel the same about the way cool but over priced items from Pottery Barn. By the way I love the color on the wall above the bead board in this photo...looks like a restoration hardware color....would you mind sharing the paint color with me?
Thanks
Tricia

Great re-do! My DIL bought the same units from Target after she saw them in the Pottery Barn catalog and went on a "there's gotta be a better price somewhere" search!

What a wonderful idea! Your former closet looks wonderful and talk about function!
I too have been looking at storage benches - now I wish my old house had a entry closet to convert.

I want to do this so badly to our hall closet. The bi-fold doors are such an eyesore. Transforming the closet into something like this would open the very narrow hallway so much. Hubby's not too keen on it ("Where will be put all the stuff we store in there?") but I think it would look gorgeous.

You did a fabulous job!! It's inspiring beyond measure!
