Just to let you know...you don't have to take the Martha Stewart magazine as a substitute. I got that notice yesterday, and since I don't care for the M.S. mag, I attempted to get in touch with Home Companion....which I could not do. So, I called M.S. mag, explained the situation, and they are going to refund my subscription money ( I had 3 more years, so it's a substantial amount). I was amazed that they could just assign another magazine to complete my subscription. This may be TMI, but thought others may want to know.Sandra
I received 5 postcards yesterday notifying me. :-) I had heard several weeks ago but was holding out that it had been heard in error. I'm so happy for the new Mary Jane's Farm publication though. It's become my substitution. I will also enjoy MS!
I too will be sad to not receive my ME Come Companion. I think this is the 3rd magazine that I read the will no longer be. :(Wendy
That is too sad! This terrible economy of ours is so depressing :( On a much lighter note...I am thinking of purchasing/making some window coverings for our living room. However, we have icky venitian blinds that cover our sliding glass doors take up our entire living room wall. Any suggestions on how to cover them (and the horizontal thingy at the top that holds them together) up inexpensively and easily? Thanks! :)
Oh no! I'm still mourning the loss of Cottage Living. I read the substitute magazine they sent me, Southern Living, and it just wasn't the same :(.
They tried to send me southern living (or something along those lines) but when I phoned they gave me a list of other options - definitely try that AnNicole! I will now be receiving coastal living, as a girl can dream, right?:)
It sounds like all the country magazines are going under. Boy, that stinks if they just assign another magazine without your approval. Go for the refund!!! Is Country Living going under?Kathleen
It's a sad world we live in when wonderful magazines that promote simple living and ideas for cooking and decorating on a budget cannot get advertising sponsors to keep their publications afloat, yet all the celebrity trash magazines are alive and well. Too sad.
Wow, what a sad sign of the times.Everyone going to have to rough out the next couple years I think!Linda
Oh no! I loved that magazine! Sniff...
