did you know?

Don't you all even try and act like you all ready knew this either. I had to go into the kitchen and check this out for myself. Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box? You know when you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place.. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up.I'm sharing this with my friends. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this.

I just stumbled upon your blog and you taught me something! I have never looked at the sides of any wrap. Thanks for the tip.

I can't tell you the number of times I have cursed that darn roll. I guess we need to read the fine print. Thanks for sharing. I'll start pushing all those little buttons. Did you try it, does it work?

Well, what a great thing to discover. No, I did not know and I am always trying to keep the rolls in the box. Thanks, this will save me a lot of hassle. Hugs, Marty

Okay, who knew this and how smart are you.

That is hysterical. The plastic wrap has the same thing (because of course I had to look at all the boxes once I saw it on the tin foil...).
I might have to link you to the kitchen co-op site for this!

I admit it, I'm a freak. My sister says I am too:) I knew it was there. Have been using it for awhile. Saran Wrap has it too. Freak-ish must be hereditary. My 12 year old son went to his friends' and showed the boys mom it was there. I also get a lot of laughs in my large family because everyone knows which plastic containers (Tupperware, Glad ware etc.)are mine. I assign all containers and matching lids of the exact same size with a letter (H for example) and then at a glance I know which lid fits which (and if I need to toss some because the lid is lost). As I buy new ones, I go up the alphabet one letter, I even use double letters (MM for example. They laugh at me, but at big dinners with leftovers involved, no one has to ask which lid will fit.

This tidbit is one that I remember hearing a while back possibly in one of those "did you know..." type emails, but had completely forgotten...thank you so much for refreshing my memory. Why don't the 'wrap' companies spread the word about this???
