The New Organized Pantry!

Ok folks, here it is. I took the pictures with my i-phone, so not the best quality~sorry! As you can see by the before pic. this makeover had to happen. It was a disaster! I wanted the whole project to be cheap, money doesn't grow on trees these days. Have you noticed?

So, I started out by ripping out the old wire shelving and I put in 2 bookcases from Home Depot. They were fairly simple to put together and they have adjustable shelves which is what I wanted. They were $99.00 a piece and I needed 2.

I got the cute new glass canisters with the black lids at Walmart. $7.99 a piece. The white baskets are from Ikea, about $9.00 a piece. The other baskets are from Ikea as well, but were something I already had. I also found these cute glass jars for oils and other liquids. They were $2.99 a piece at Ikea. I simply printed out the wording using avery address label stickers!

I am happy with the result, hopefully it will stay nice and neat!

Incredible, amazing! A true inspiration. I'm hitting Ikea this weekend. I love that you have your microwave in the pantry, mine is above the stove, hate it!

What a phenomenal makeover!
My pantry is stuffed with food and such. It was once pretty and organized, and then I brought home cases of food from the warehouse store. Now it doesn't look as pretty, but my boys are happy with all the food! ;~)

WOW! You did a fantastic job! I am inspired to do mine now. Thanks for sharing where to find the glass containers...I never see them in the places I shop and the ones I've found online are pricier. I am putting a trip to IKEA (closest one is an hour away) on my "to do" list!
Have a happy day!

Melaine - If I didn't like you so much, I would hate you. You can do everything - I just can't find the motivation.......I still haven't done my closet - the one with the embarrasing pics on my blog....can you come (fly)over and do it for me? Great job, like everything you do.

WOW, you outdid yourself! My pantry is a small room that resembles your before. The bigger the pantry the more junk you can collect in it!! I have been meaning to do something with it and you inspired me to go above and beyond in there! I want it to be a place I love going in to! Like yours..........Thanks for sharing and please keep it up, we love it! I always check your blog!

Walmart, eh? Who knew? I have been so disappointed b/c i have been trying to find glass canisters with SEALED lids. All I could find were lids with no plastic or rubber to properly seal them. Yours work great!

Good job!

Wow!!! I love that so much! I really want to do mine right now, but we are focusing on other projects right now. Guess I need to add it to the list :)

Your blog is now one of my favorites. I have really been inspired by your style and how you are able to make everything look so stylish for so little money. I have passed this site on to some friends and family who also enjoy it.

Great job Melanie! Makes me want to tackle our pantry area...but not until Spring. (My to do list is growing..lol) I'll send you some pics..maybe your have ideas for me? Our pantry is part of our laundry room...off of our kitchen. I absolutely know I want different doors to the pantry. I have my microwave in a little "nook" and that works fine for us. Will be in touch! Glad to see you have recovered...and are up and around. *Tricia*

I popped by to look at your pantry! I am in the process of pantry-creating and am contemplating how to do it to achieve what I want! Have you found the bookshelves capable of supporting lots of weight or are they buckling a bit?
