A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

THIS AFTERNOON MY NEIGHBOR JEANNIE,
HER DOG, AND HER NANNY WERE OUT TAKING
A WALK IN THE WOODS BEHIND THEIR HOUSE.
THEY WERE ON A TRAIL WHEN ALL
OF A SUDDEN THE DOG STARTED BARKING
AND GOING CRAZY. STRAIGHT AHEAD
OF THEM WAS A BOBCAT SNARLING AND
HISSING AT THEM. SO, THE DOGS GOING
CRAZY, THESE 2 LADIES ARE SCARED
AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, THE
BOBCAT STEPS TOWARDS THEM, AND
THEN THE WEIRDEST THING HAPPENS.
IT TAKES TWO STEPS AGAIN, BACKWARDS.
KEELS OVER AND DIES.
RIGHT THERE! POOR THING!
ANYWAY, JEANIE, MY NEIGHBOR
FRIEND GOES HOME GETS A TOWEL
AND GLOVES AND CARRIES THE THING
BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY
GARDEN. THAT IS WHERE I GOT
THESE SHOTS FROM.
SO, IF YOU ARE A CITY GAL, HERE IS A
LITTLE TASTE OF THE COUNTRY FOR YOU!
LOOK AT THAT SNARL!
AND THOSE CLAWS!
IT WAS PRETTY SMALL, WHICH I GUESS THEY ARE. I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING BIGGER.
POOR THING!

That's amazing. I'm a country girl too, so I've seen bobcats, but would not want to come that close to one. How freaky that the thing just killed over like that?

I would contact someone from the local DNR to check it out for rabies. A lot of times they'll act unusual when sick. Be careful no one gets scratched by the claws til it's checked out. We've had a rabies problem in our area before.

Yikes, that is so scary. We have mountain lions here. They scare the pee out of me. One attacked our neighbors horse not too long ago. This is why I dont walk around the neighborhood and have asked my DH for a treadmill! LOLOL

Isnt that the oddest thing? Think the little kitty had a heart attack from all the screaming? Or the dogs?

Too wierd. We have bobcats all over this area, in fact....
Go, Aberdeen Bobcats!!! (class of 84, thank you:))

Oh my goodness! That is crazy!! I would have totally freaked out. This goes to show you that when your hiking or just strolling you never know what's around the corner. I agree with the other gal that stories like this make the treadmill not look so boring.

Did it get checked for Rabies?
Because you don't even want to touch it if it has them.
Scarey!
