I am so jealous. I paid a decorator and I hate my room.......spent a ton of money in there and I officially hate it!!!

Melaine - The "new" look could not be further from what you currently have! I have white slipcovers on all our furniture - with 2 kids and 2 dogs and it WORKS! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! I wash/bleach often but never have tired of white! Your rock fireplace will balance that white nicely - bringing in great texture! Old ticking stripe also looks great - and of course the old grain sacks and coffee sacks! How exciting to re-do. I look forward to seeing the outcome. Jill

Melanie, I LOVE it! I just put two off-white slipcovered sofas in my great room (from JC Penney) and I love them. So much you can do to change the look when you start with these great neutrals. As always, we can't wait to see the final outcome.

I know - that living room is one of my favorites too. Gorgeous! I'm still trying to convince my husband who loves a "formal" looking living room. Maybe if he can keep his leather chair, he won't notice. lol

Can't wait to see what you do! Good luck!

I love the look. I am also switching (slowly) to a more neutral/white decor. I have been primitive, for what seems like forever, and I also love the lighter, linen and white look. I am just starting another blog named
"Fields of linen & White" nothing on there yet. My rooms are dark like your living room. I can't wait to see your transformation. Question to you: how did you do your blog header with different pictures

An idea for you, I went back and looked at your living room pictures. Why not paint the wood walls ~WHITE~ I bet they would come out beautifully, and that end table in the last picture would also look great painted a distressed white. What do U think?

LOVE it! It's such a bummer...my hub is against the "gyspy furniture", as he calls it. He has no idea how washable the white stuff can be! Sheesh. I'll just live through your blog pics :)

So serene! And your rock wall will give it the perfect element of texture/edge.

Melaine,
This room is so you now. I too have white slipcovered furntiure and I love it. Even though I don't have kids and dogs find it so easy to take care of. Check out PB's new PB Basic Comfort Sofa. It is a little bit bigger than the PB Basic and so comfortable. It is now on my very long wish list! Can't wait to see your room when you are done. I just know it is going to be another award winning design!

We may end up with very similar living rooms. :-) I agree, the look is great. Pottery Barn has burlap pillow cases right now. I'll send you pics once I am done. It may take a while though, still unpacking.
