~it's complicated~

Have you seen the movie?
It's fabulous, and so is the house in the movie!
It got me thinking about black claw foot bathtubs.
You don't see them everyday and I think that is why they appeal to me so much. there is something really rich looking about them, don't ya think?
Not that I am going to be painting mine anytime soon, just dreaming...

P.S. I didn't get any good pictures of my son's Star Wars birthday yesterday, mainly because no one sat still long enough for a photo!
Let's just say next year we will be going elsewhere for the festivities!
Have a happy day!
xoxo

Ooooo, I would be dreamy over any claw foot tub but yes the black gives it a new look.
I can't wait to see that show, those two have got to be a hoot together...........

I have 3 claw foot tubs in my house and am dying to get one of them painted dark smoldering grey. Getting it to the guy is the problem. They way a ton and the thought that if something happened I would have to deal with the wall or floor problems keeps me from doing it. 2010 this will be the year.

I read on a blog the other day (wish I could remember which one) all about the "it's complicated" set. Nancy Meyers sets are the stars too. Her parents were antique dealers and interior decorators so it is important to her.....her most famous set was my all time favorite, "somethings gotta give". The washington Post did a big article about her sets recently in anticipation for the new movie. I had to see it right away, even my hubby had to admit he liked it too!

I love black painted freestanding tubs - there is something about the crisp contrast between black and white that always turns my head!

Thank you for the movie tip! I found a wonderful claw foot tub for my bungalow restoration project and have thought about painting it black....or buttercream. Either choice would be a far cry better than its current state of....magenta!!!! Ugh!!!

Oh my gosh, I loved the movie. Not sure which I was more interested in...the story or her house and bakery. The tub was cool but the kitchen was wow!

We saw that movie tonight on our date night. Afterwards, as always, my hubband asks, "What did you think?" and all I could say was, "I want her house!!!" Wasn't it completely beautiful? Ah, amazing. I kept thinking, why is she going to renovate?! Too funny.

I really want to see this movie, hopefully this weekend. i just love a clawfoot tub, it just evokes thoughts of tranquility and romance.
Y'all have me dying to see the movie now. I can't wait to see this house!
Don't we all want to renovate after looking at something too long. Then along comes someone that says "I love your decorating" or "Your house just looks wonderful". OR You go to help someone with their decorating and either realize you like your style or you want to change your style. As my husband would say "Can you ever live with something for more than a year?"
Well enough of my babbling.
I loved catching up on your blog.
Blessingsin 2010!
