~mini me~

My daughter and I are best friends.
That may change when she is a teenager,
but for now I am loving every minute of it.
At 11 years old she shares my love of cooking,
organizing, decorating, and keeping things tidy.
Last night she asked me if she could get on the
computer and search for ideas for her "new" room...
{who does that sound like?}
She came up with this picture.
I'm all over it.
Are you kidding me?
She could have picked some awful purple and teal
combination, but she picked this!
She is a mini me!
I love this girl!
Anyone know anything about this photo? Where it's from, etc.?
I am off to spend the day thrifting, one of my favorite things to do.
I am fighting a cold but that won't stop me!
Have a great day friends!
xoxo

So sweet. My mom and I have always been close, although we did have our moments when I was a teenager.

And how relieved were you when she didn't pick the purple and teal???!?? Awesome taste, girl! :)

She is a girl after my own heart! I love the brown walls and especially when mixed with white furniture and bedding. For 11, she has sophisticated design sense. You are so lucky. She could have wanted lavender and pink.

She's got great taste. That's the palette I'm planning for my new room too.

LOVE this room! She has great taste just like her mom! My daughter is 19 and a freshman in college and STILL my best friend. We do everything together, talk daily, text daily and love spending time with one another. She even came surprised me when I came home last Friday and she was here for the weekend! Enjoy your daughter!

You're so lucky she picked something you like too. I love my daughters and am very close to them but my taste and theirs are very different.

Very nice room. My baby chose A very bright pink for her room. I SOOOO wanted a shabby chic look for her room but NOOO she did not want to do that. I guess my spare room/play room will have that look.

I can't wait to see your pictures.

Hi Melaine, that is such a sweet post! I feel the same way about our 10 yr old daughter, she is my best buddy (we even share the same birthday) and she loves to decorate and go thrifting too. Your daughter chose a beautiful room! Enjoy your day of thrifting and I hope your cold doesn't eventuate! ~ Tina x

Love the bedroom and the two little doll/doggie beds at the foot of them. You are so lucky - my daughter did the teal and green thing for many years. Finally after she left to college I re did it the way I always wanted. She came home from her first break and said, "Mom. this is the room I always wanted but never knew" WOW! affirmation. Mother does know best.

Amada

I remember as a teenager my parents said I could decorate my room anyway I liked. I chose fluorescent pink, green, and red and painted "LOVE" in giant letters across one long wall. Well it was the 60's!
