~color without commitment~

With the changing seasons I find myself craving a bit more color.
No, I am not going to paint my walls bright yellow,
but I am however injecting bits and pieces of color throughout my home.
They are pieces, like these flowers,
that can be moved from room to room,
and either tossed out or put away in a cupboard
when I start craving neutrals again. I love the color of these dahlias.
Looking at them makes me smile.
They remind me of my Grandpa too,
he grew dahlias and they were his favorite flower.

Even something as simple as an apple
can provide enough color on a all white table setting.

I have filled my tiered kitchen basket

with fruits and even added some fun gourds for autumn.

I just loved the color of these pears.

And.....
I bought my first pumpkin of the year!
I actually got it a couple weeks ago.
My husband always rolls his eyes at me when
I bring home pumpkins so early in the season,
but I love them,
I can't help it!

The dahlias are almost the exact same color as those pears!
Do you add more color to your home this time of year?
Don't forget, you still have time to sign up for my giveaway below!

Yes I do like color this time of year and I was just going through my stash of goodies, I changed my lampshades to some Ralph Lauren looking ones, put some red toile pillows on my sofas and I bought some pears and apples yesterday to add some color (; Love your flowers and those pears!

Beautiful fall colors....I'm like you, I need a little color for the fall. I go to an awesome pumpkin/gourd farm every year to buy. I have fallen in love with this husband/wife team. i usually go mid October but I'm finding myself wanting to go earlier this year. Raining here today so may have to dig out the fall decor.

Please enter me in your give-away.
So enjoy your blog.

You know, I don't think I've ever bought dahlias before! They are really lovely. I like your touches of color! I need to get some apples and pears. Usually I have a student who brings me a huge bag of apples from their trees (for my horse.) So sweet!
p.s.- I gave you a little shout-out on my blog featuring something I purchased from ya at the French Flea!! ;)

I love color. I look around my living room, and there are spots of color everywhere. I have a small floor shelf painted the same green of the walls, filled with my bright 1940's California pottery water pitchers. My shears on the windows are dark pomegranate red, with pillows to match. Your picture of the little pumpkin on the white plates is perfection! Have a great Thurs.
