~if these walls could talk~

As you know by now,

I like to change things up from time to time around the house.

The wall behind our sofa before was OK,

but really wasn't that striking with the cream frames on the cream walls.

I wanted a little more contrast, so out came the black frames!

I also made these signs.
I think the saying is perfect for all of our family photos.

I used a mix of new frames

&

frames that I made out of chunky wood,

painted black and distressed.

Some of the photos are done by a professional,

but most are just snapshots of the kiddos that we took ourselves.

I just got those Pottery Barn lampshades and am already wanting new lamps for them!

I have my eye on these.

But, I will have to wait till they go on sale.

These are nice too and less expensive.

Enjoy your weekend friends!

xoxo

I see I have found someone that loves lamps as much as I do. Love the shades and I have had my eye on the silver with burlap shades too. Just don't know where I'd place them right now since I replaced lamps at Christmas, but I guess I'll be able to find room somewhere since I love to switch things out OFTEN...

Looks great, Melaine! Love the lampshades. :) I have the mercury glass table lamp from PB, and I absolutely love it. I would like to get the smaller bedside lamp for my husband's side of the bed, but am also waiting for it to go on sale.

I am so glad that I am not the only one that likes to change things around a lot. My husband thinks I have a serious problem!
Love the black with the ivory. I have been thinking about doing the same with our picture wall. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Melaine. Looks fabulous! As does everything you do. I just bought the same lamp shade (not sure where I was going to use it) and ended up rigging it up to go on the existing ceiling fixture in my foyer. I LOVE IT! I'll email you a picture.

I like your new sign(s). Those lampshades are my favorite PB shades. I prefer the second lamps you posted, though they're both stunning.

I love that your blog reminds me that decorating our home is not a constant; it is an ever-evolving, malleable process that expresses who we are as our family grows--my 5 year old grand-girl loves your playlist and requests it all the time :)

This is completely me!!!! I just wrote a post today about how I changed out some of my guest room d├ęcor... again;-) My husband just laughs at me!!! I told him yesterday I wanted to hang something REALLY heavy on the OUTSIDE of our house and his response was, "That's fine with me, but you have to realize you can't take it down in a month. There will be huge holes in the siding of our farmhouse."
Thanks for posting!
