Melaine you have the loveliest things on your post today! Starting with that great photo of Sheryl Crow's NYC loft featured in Elle magazine last year...and the Santos cage doll is exquisite! I won the HomeGoods lotto at Christmas when my neigborhood store had TWO put on the holiday aisle while I walked by(it's the first doll pictured in the website!)...I asked them to hold one, to think about it...and when I was ready to check out the OTHER one was being rung up!! Yep, took mine home for $79.99...none of the other stores got any in...right place, right time...mine is in my bedroom...someone will love yours when you pick their name!!! I named mine Saint Evangeline...

These cage dolls are such unique pieces- when I first started hearing about them, I couldn't help but wonder why they were called "santos." I'm from New Mexico and grew up seeing the wood saint santos in churches and in museums. I would place mine in the room in the guest room that features my southwest treasures. It would be a fun juxtaposition to the Indian and Hispanic treasures I already own.

I would have my beautiful Santos Caged Doll on my lovely old unit in my hallway, she would be the first thing I see in the morning, going to bed, walking from room to room and when I walk in my front door. I would also be able to shower her with kisses with each passing. She could look out through my glazed frot door and watch the world go by until I came back home. Then I could tell her all about my day.
