And yesterday they graduated 6th grade together.
It was a very nice little ceremony, and I couldn't be prouder of the both of them.
13 kids were nominated for student of the year, a big honor at our school.
All the teachers vote and the winner gets his/her name on a plaque displayed at the school.
Jordyn {left} and Savannah {right} were both nominated and Jordyn actually won!
We are so proud of these girls!
I feel like it was yesterday that they were making play dough creations in preschool together.
Now they are off to Jr. High.......

Congratulations on raising a lovely girl. Next year she gets a locker and a boyfriend! Hopefully not, right?
What an honor
for your girl!
And believe me,
those years after
sixth grade will
fly....! What a doll.

Your daughter is beautiful!! Believe it or not, I think the years up to 6th grade are the slowest. Middle school goes rather quickly and high school is over in the blink of an eye!!! Congrats to both of the girls. : )

Melanie,
Your post just made me well up a bit. My son also graduated from 6th grade yesterday (along with his best "preschool" friend). He's headed to jr. high & I can't believe how my baby has grown. Time flies by so quickly......
Congratulations, Savannah!

How proud you must be of your beautiful Savannah!! My son "graduates" from 6th grade next Tuesday and I feel like we're heading into a whole new world. Someone please stop the clock!!!!!!
I love that story...my daughter and her best friend met in pre-school when they were 3. They have been inseperable since! They have always gone to different schools and we even held Sydney back for one more year of Pre-K and they are still thick as thieves! Oh...they are 10 now.
Congrats to the girls! Time flies...we'll have two seniors (one college, one high school) and both have that special friend from way back when!
Melanie...and so it begins! Your daughter is beautiful and you must be so proud! My son just graduated from 8th grade and will be a freshman...YIKES! My babydoll is going to be in 8th grade. It was a different experience for her as a girl, but I was so proud to watch her stand up for herself, her convictions, and start becoming a confident young woman. Get ready...7th and 8th grade FLY by so quickly and it is so wonderful to watch them grow and find their identities.
Hugs!

Hello Melanie,
What lovely girls (young women) you should be very proud.
I hope the friendship lasts for many more years to come. Those are special bonds.

How precious! Makes me think of one of my best friends...we met in preschool as well & went to elementary, middle school & high school together. I just got married & she was a bridesmaid in my wedding. Such a precious thing to have a friend you have known that long...I pray these girls can say the same thing years from now! :)
Congrads to both girls.
They are so cute. I am sure they are so excited to start middle school. Hope they have a great summer.
