~a project for the new year~

We have been going back and forth for some time now about re-doing

While he loves it, he has had it since his nursery,
{the longest any room has stayed the same around here}
and he did just turn 9......
We haven't taken the plunge yet, for 2 reasons.

1~he is sentimental and loves his "bed" and "chair"
2~we can't agree on a design
If I could have things my way {ha-ha}
I'd create something like above.

1~layers of plaid bedding. Trunks stacked for night tables. Leather tufted headboard.

2~These lights {I believe circa lighting}

3~Some sort of fun artwork.

4 & 5~A few industrial elements

5~wall color

When it does come time, I'm sure there will be a lot of compromise, which is just fine.
Until then, I will be dreaming of plaid, leather, and industrial projects.........

Very sophisticated cowboy room ideas! I have three boys who are getting tired of trains and trucks :) We're going to have to start thinking of some ideas to make it more grownup.

Maybe you should just surprise hime like you did in your daughter's room. I think sometimes they are afraid of change but when it happens they fall in love! Just an idea here...let him keep a few of his favorite items and just work your awesome magic around them. I think it's pretty sweet how you give him time. No rushing. Oh they grow too fast don't they. Enjoy the journey and congrats on your photo shoot. So excited to see more!

I think us Mom's like to redo an entire room in a matter of days but kids dont get all nervous if we change two things every couple of weeks. Let them get used to that and then 2 more and on and on until its done.This works best if you make the change when they are otherwise focused on a special event:) the circus- the rodeo- a short trip. sounds sneaky and it is but heck, we're the moms and we deserve to be a little sneaky considering all we put up with and do without for their sakes.. :) good luck- you've made some great choices.
