~our dining room~

I am linking up with my friend Jen here on her room redo party.
I have switched things up a bit in our dining room.
I turned the dining room table to face the other direction.
This opened up the wall under the shelving, so I searched high and low and found a great buffet on craigslist for $150.00.
This is how the dining room looks from the kitchen.
I added just a little bit of color to the all white dishes on display.

I painted the buffet and added new hardware.
I will do another post on that shortly.

The top is a nice area for a bar.
 Looking into the kitchen.
I can't even tell you how excited I am to have all this extra storage!
Look at all the dividers for my extra silverware!

Here is the same room back in 2009.
You can see the table facing the other direction and the black paint it used to have on it.
I love it so much better!
xoxo

The room is so pretty! I like your table better now also and good score on the buffet! How did you refinish your black table? Did you strip it or paint it?

The room is gorgeous. I am in love with the window in the room. How wonderful that you do not have to have window coverings. It must be beautiful during the day when the sun is shining, when it snows or during Fall when the leaves are changing. Love your table either way, it has great legs!

Gorgeous find on Craigslist! Lately, our local Craigslist is so overpriced for the items they list. Your room is beautiful and very relaxing. The dining table is a lovely shade--may I ask where you found it? Thank you for sharing your home, Kris

What a difference the table position made! I l.o.v.e. that table. You must have done the CL happy dance when you snagged that buffet.
I see you have tile in your dining room. We should add that possibility to our flooring maybe list.

Wow, it looks fabulous. Love the new buffet and the styling of the shelves. I'm sure the extra storage is fabulous!! I'm not too sure about the display of alcohol with children in your home though. :( Love the view outside too. So pretty. :)

Hi - I love your dining room. Question on the table- how did you achieve that finish? I saw that it had a black paint/stain before. I have a table I am redoing and love the finish on your table. Thanks so much. T.O'Brien

You have style and flair. I have just sanded back my dining table but am confused about how to finish it. It looks like the black paint you had on it has been used to your advantage. You left some on before staining?? Please advise on your finishing of your table. Thanks heaps.
