~blueberry lemon bread & 2 winners~

~mom's blueberry lemon bread~
1/3 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons grated lemon peel
1 cup fresh blueberries

for the glaze

1 cup powdered sugar
about 2-3 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice

Grease and flour bread pan. Combine the butter, sugar, eggs, and lemon juice. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. 
Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, alternating with the milk. Do not over stir. Gently fold in the blueberries and lemon peel.
Bake at 350 for approx. 1 hour.

Pour glaze over warm bread.

I made this tonight and it is absolutely delicious (and simple)! The only thing I can't figure out is why my fresh blueberries all sank to the bottom of the bread during baking. How do I prevent this?

I haven't made this recipe yet, but you can try stirring about 1 TBS flour into the berries before putting them in the mix. Sometimes that's just what they need to stay afloat.
