~sun lakes~

For the past 4 years, around this time,
we head over to Sun Lakes with 3 other families to have a little camping fun.
The other families kids are a bit younger than Savannah, so for the past 3 years she has brought her good friend Sami along.

This year we rented aqua cycles.
The girls went on one....
 The boys on the other!
There was lots of sand castle makin', and plenty of fun with friends.
 The weather was gorgeous.
You don't even want to know how many root beer float milkshakes I had.

 ~water wars~
One of the highlights of the trip every year!
And in the down time, the girls braided each others hair.
 Harley came with us.
This was his second camping trip and he loves it.
Of course my favorite part was the gorgeous scenery of the back country roads.

Our family got to see this turtle laying eggs.
We just happened to be at the right place at the right time, it was very cool!

There is an inner peace that you feel once you cross the Cascades and enter Eastern Washington. I can't explain it! I love the country scenes as well.

We vacationed at Sun Lakes when I was a child. The memories are forever smiles and hugs!

There is seriously nothing better than being on the water with friends/family. Those aqua cycles look like a blast-- never seen them before!! :)

Sun lakes are a great place for camping. We used to go there a lot, though it was a much shorter drive for us. Now we usually head west for camping...to escape the heat. :)

I've always wanted to go there, but with family in Spokane, we always seem to do Lake Roosevelt. I'm going to get there one of these days!
Thanks for sharing!
(nice to know there's sunshine somewhere in WA!!!)

Here's my question: how did you play in the sand with the nasty goose poop on the beaches? We loved sun lakes camping but not crazy about the beach. Tips?
