~that look~

It all started with an email.

Someone local saw and liked my dining chairs on my blog and emailed me to
ask me if I'd sell them to her.
Sure, I wasn't married to them, and I'm always up for a change.

So I went from the light look of my cream chairs
to these beauties from Restoration Hardware, in the burnt oak color.
{shown below}
The best part is that they are a bit smaller,
and I can now seat 8 at my table instead of 6!
The darker chairs really warmed up the room.
{photos coming shortly}
Reminding me again why I LOVE Restoration Hardware so much.
It's that deep, dark, cozy look.
Hard to put a finger on it.
I love all the wood tones and the industrial pieces they use.
The textures and finishes.
The chairs below are the ones I got in a lighter finish.
I have a my eyes on a certain chandelier, just don't know where I'm gonna put it yet!
Somehow, someday, I will find a way to recreate that subway art for less than $700!
So, do you love the look of Restoration Hardware pieces?
I admit, I am not a fan of it all, and the prices sometimes blow me away, but I think you can achieve this look with just a few key pieces.
When I went to California last year, I visited a house that fully enveloped this look.
You can read about it here.
Her house was also just featured in the current Romantic Prairie Style magazine,
 so you might recognize it.
This room was one of my favorites.
Love the charcoal grey sectional, the chandelier, the leather ottoman/table and all those photos.
I am off to Farm Chicks in a few hours!
Meeting up with some great friends, and hopefully meeting new ones!
I will be back to share my treasures with you, and of course, I will take a ton of photos!
Don't forget, if you haven't already, enter the giveaway below for a chance to win a $50.00 Home Depot gift card.

I adore Restoration hardware. If I was closer to the outlet store, I would live there.

Have fun with chicks! Be "sure to share" when you return, dear Melaine!

I really love the new Restoration Hardware pieces but some are way out of my price comfort zone. I'm currently working on a budget version of one of their steel and wood bookcases. I'll link you when I'm all finished.

Love your chairs and yes I really like a lot of their things. I just don't like the deconstructed look they brought out, really tooooooo shabby for me. Would love to be entered for the gift card. Hugs, Marty

I'll admit that I am not crazy over Restoration Hardware, although there are pieces I like. We don't even have one here in my area (East TN). I don't want our home to look like RH or PB. I love your home as is (loved those white chairs!!). It is much more unique.

Have a fun trip!

So funny to see the different responses. I personally love those quaint chairs, but recently found out my DH abhors them, LOL. (We both absolutely love the mood/feeling of Restoration Hardware.) My response was "then we need to find a house that has enough space for larger chairs & more of them for our family of 6". I personally have a soft spot for the new deconstructed line. I think if you mixed largely Restoration Hardware with a smattering of Arhaus & just a sprinkle of Shabby Chic, you might wind up at my dream home.

show us some pictures of the chairs around your table...pretty please. :)

about the subway art....do you have a local sign company that does vinyl masks?

You could recreate the ones from RH by getting a sign company to make your vinyl masks...then you put the masks down on a base of your choice....paint it and then pull the mask off and you have your RH look alike. Let me know if this isn't clear...I'm not always the best at clearly describing things. :)

I really think you could do it. If you don't have a local sign company, email me because we have one here. :) I could some how mail them to you for you to make!

Absolutely love the the RH chairs! Great choice. Can't wait to see pics. We are in the process of renovating our new home & I am dreaming of an inexpensive way to seat 8 rather than 6. I have my eyes on these chairs. Also ~ I know of a local girl in my area who does custom signs similar to RH, but a bit more rustic. If you are interested check out my blog you can see some of her work in pics of my brothers shop Dwellings.

Have these in my dining room & love them :) and I do love a lot of RH's stuff. Except their new deconstructed furniture. It's just not my thing. And it just looks weird.

I too love RH, read an article on the guy running the show now, he came from pottery barn...not surprised! I was in Scottsdale this spring and they are starting construction on a HUGE new site that will have all their patio furniture on the roof top .....that's a worth a trip don't you think! Can't wait to see your finds from the Farm Chicks!

I am a Restoration Hardware fan. I have those same chairs in my summer cottage and also bought them for my sister's house. They are great.
