~pantry made with Ikea bookshelves~

Our pantry in our kitchen is the size of a regular closet. When we first added it, we chose wire shelving.
That quickly became old because things would tip over and it was just a giant mess.
It just so happened that 2 Ikea billy bookshelves fit perfectly.

I like how everything is all neat and tidy now. I recently made a trip to the store and loaded up on matching glass canisters. I think this makes a huge difference.
It's so easy now when I am baking, I can see everything clearly.

Another thing I bought was inexpensive white stacking bins. They keep all the kids snacks separated and it makes making school lunches a breeze.

I found some cute pantry labels online that I was going to use for my glass canisters, but I needed pretty specific ones, so I made my own.
I started with this floral design {thank you Shabby Blogs!} and went from there. I bought sticker paper at the office supply store and printed them at home on my printer. If you are going to do this I highly recommend "reposition-able" sticker paper. There's nothing nothing worse than having to scrape sticker residue off glass, am I right?

And, just for you lovelies, I am including all the ones I made, for you to print and use!
Just copy them into a word document, size them accordingly, and print!

Enjoy them!

I love the glass containers with the labels on them. I like that the contents are actually closed up and no air getting inside - it just seems safer and it looks great too.

I love the black background to the pantry. It really makes things easy to see. A great look. In my last house I did a pantry make over that you might enjoy reading about ...

Unfortunately, I have now moved to a new house and have to start all over again.

The bookshelves are a fantastic idea and your pantry looks super organized. I adore glass jars for food storage and you have made them look so pretty.

Love this! I never thought about putting protein powder in a container like the flour. Smart! I never knew what to do with those ugly huge plastic containers!

Where did you get the white stacking bins? I need some just like that for my pantry and cannot find any that are the right size!

Hi there! I love this idea to organize food and snacks better. I have a large walk in pantry with awful wire shelves and things are constantly tipping over. Thankfully in Georgia we have an IKEA so I plan to try to make something similar for my pantry! I just wanted to ask if you don't mind, which size bookshelf did you use? I narrowed it down to 2 possibilities at IkEA, but I can't quite tell from your pictures. Thanks so much and thank you for your blog!

I have a large pantry with wire shelves that aren't working for me either, so I got 2 Billy bookcases to start on better pantry organization. Then I found your blog thru pinterest & you've given me some great ideas for organization within the shelves. I use lazy Susans for spices & a wrap organizer for aluminum foil etc. Love the idea of the stacking bins for snacks & other things. Thanks for helping me be more organized.

Looks great! On the bottom right side, you have a wire insert that slides onto the shelf. Where did you get those? I've been looking, and the only ones I've found hook onto existing wire shelving. I need the kind that slide onto solid shelving like your's!

Hello! I just discovered your blog and am IN LOVE! I can't wait to begin organizing my pantry. Can you please tell me which font you used to create your labels? I want to make a few more to go along with the ones you've already shared with us! :). Thank you so much for your inspiring organization!

I am moving into a new condo and this is exactly what I need for one side of the kitchen! How did you attach the bins into the bookcase? Looking at this on my smartphone so pictures are small enough that I can't make it out right now.

Your pantry looks great. I am looking for ideas for organizing my pantry now. Cheryl asked about the glass canisters. The cheapest ones I found were at Big Lots, $5.99. I also went to TJMaxx and bought big canisters for my cereal etc., $7.99. The cereal canisters had a chalkboard label on them which I didn't want (I wanted all of my labels to match). I wiped over them with nail polish remover and washed in the dishwasher. No more chalkboard.
