~Starbucks evenings & a giveaway~

I mentioned last week that I would be having a fun girls night at Starbucks.
I was surprised to see that many of you didn't know that Starbucks was open evenings for wine and small plates at  some of their locations.
Well lucky me, because there is one right downtown, about 15 minutes from my house!
Last Thursday night I met my friends there for 3 hours of fun.

Starbucks really made me feel special, I mean, c'mon, look at this sign!
My friend took my picture with it about 20 times, and this is the photo I chose to share~one without my face :)

The even had fresh flower bouquets that they let me take home.
We had so much fun and had some of the BEST food and wine ever!
My favorite was the bacon wrapped dates:

The Starbucks team was so incredibly sweet.
They even served espresso for my friends who weren't drinking that evening.

Here is Holly, the store manager, filling us in on Starbucks Evenings.

And here are some shots of my friends doing what we do best~eating, drinking,
 and gossiping talking.

It was so nice to get out of the house, away from dirty dishes and laundry and just sit back and relax with some of my favorite people.
I need to remember to do this more often.

What are your favorite daily escapes?
What is something you do just for you, whether it be everyday, or once a month.

Leave me your answer in the comment section and you will be entered to win a $50 Starbucks card so you too can enjoy a little girl time!

I will pick a winner and announce back here on Friday!

xoxo

I wish my Starbucks did that!
I recently started a monthly "porch time" with some of my neighbors! We gather on my deck and I provide the wine and they all bring an appetizer to share. So much fun and such a fun way to relax and catch up with the neighbors.

I go to the library (or the local indie bookstore if I have $$ burning a hole in my pocket) and spend some time with a warm drink leafing through new fiction. I love finding new authors and I can rarely pick just one book to buy.

What a lovely evening! I'd really like this option near me. Sometimes, a quiet cup of coffee is a welcome evening adventure! For Valentine's Day I made the hubby-man a small box filled with "Great Escapes." I labeled the top with pretty writing that said "52 Things To Do With You." Inside I folded up small pink sticky notes that were printed with Me+You, and then on each note I wrote a simple idea for us time. The ideas were as simple "Dessert and Reading," or "Wine, Hot Tub and Me," to things like "Take the train to the Beach." Having been just been told about Starbucks Evenings, added to the fact that the man and I met at Starbucks, I included an Evening on one of his notes. Can't wait until he pulls it out of the box!

The reason many have not heard about Starbucks evenings out is because the stores away from the West coast are slower to follow the trend. I love Starbucks and my hubby and I treat ourselves quite often. But I must admit, and it may sound corny, but every evening my hubby and I sip our wine and prepare dinner together. Can't get much better than that :-)

Just for me time consists of dressing pretty, getting a yummy hot drink at Starbucks and heading over to my favorite antique/vintage shop for the next couple of hours (without the kids). I do this once a month and it feels sooooo good. I leave that place feeling totally relaxed, refreshed and hopefully with a few (new to me) goodies.

At least 2 times a year I have organized a quilt retreat. But I like sitting on the patio with a glass of wine watching the lake. I also meet up with my friends every 8 weeks for a book discussion. I have lots of things I get into for me. LOL
