~DIY bullseye bookends~{thrifty thursday}

I have to admit that I cheated on this project.
I did not make these, however I would like too.

I actually purchased these bookends just like this, wanting to recreate them, but am having the hardest time finding a product to use to make them stand up.
I am not sure what type of thin metal was used here.
Maybe you can tell me?

Do I have you thinking?

I can't tell exactly what these are, but you could use vintage metal bookends like some I've found at thrift shops. They might still be available at office supply stores.

Yes, you got me thinking...You always do...;) The metal part of the bulls eye book ends look commercially produced. They remind me of the bookends used in my high school library. I found these on Amazon that you might be able to adapt for the project...STEELMASTER Soho Collection Economy for $2.99...
Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/STEELMASTER-Collection-Economy-Bookends-241005050/dp/B005M0MN5I
Or as Heidi said you might be able to pick up when you are thrifting... I know I have seen them in my area... Thanks for all your creative ideas!!!

Try this....SIMPSON STRONG-TIE
Z-Max 4 Inch x 4 Inch Half Post Base
At Home Depot. Sorry the link won't copy. It is even galvanized for that rustic look.
