~free is good~{our new outdoor table}

My friend recently moved and was getting rid of a wood table.
Seeing as how our outdoor table had seem better days, I hauled it home.

It had a big wood top on it that I wasn't crazy about,
{but am saving for another project!}
  so I took that off and simply added three 8' long pieces of scaffolding wood.

I pushed our old chairs up to it and added different stools to each end
{both of which were free as well, don't you love free?}

I added a row of pumpkins to the top and some twigs for fall.
Tonight it's raining, but I am hoping tomorrow we can eat dinner outside.

I love this! Rustic and simple and just beautiful! I have a wooden farmhouse table from our kitchen previous that just doesn't fit in our new home. I have been considering trying to weather proof it a bit to be able to use it out on our deck. I love the extension of the outdoor room for entertaining and enjoying dinner as a family. I worry about the elements here in New England ,but if you can do it with your climate then I guess I should stop worrying and go for it!
Just a note to say that your blog is my first stop each morning, coffee in hand to see what's new! I am so inspired by everything you do!

So jealous you got it free! ;) I have been searching CL for a table this style for our dining room and I also may replace the top to give it more of a farmhouse look. Your photos are really beautiful! Hope your family enjoys many meals around your wonderful table!

The table is a great piece and perfect in your beautiful lakeside setting. We used to have an old farmhouse table on our backyard patio and this re-inspires me to find another, but this time with a weathered wood board top.

I love that you upcycle, there is nothing better than getting something free and being able to turn it into something you can use..... I have been scouring CL for the last couple of years for a outside table too..... I will find it you just have to be patient.... and thrifty... or as my wife says cheap... oh well as always LOVE your blog!! Blessings Curtis & Sherrie.

Love that table! I have the 'formal' version in my dinning room. I inherited it and love the way it was made! I always assumed it was a 'shaker' style. The way the bottom wood plank runs through the two sides. I love finding treasures and adding some extra touches! Well done! :-)
