~holiday wreath making~

Every year, my parents get their kids
{there is 3 of us girls}
together to do something fun during the holiday season.
We have been to Christmas plays, driven around and looked at holiday lights, etc.
This year we went to Christianson's Nursery in Mount Vernon Washington
 to make fresh wreaths.
It was my first time doing this and I had so much fun.
I now want a wreath machine at home. :)

This nursery is a favorite of mine.
The wreath making was in a gorgeous building with old sliding doors and tons of charm.
It was very cold, but we got lattes and bundled up.

You can bring your own clippings or choose from a variety of theirs.

We made various bundles of greenery and planned out how we wanted our wreaths to go together.

We brought lots of greenery from home and mixed in a few of their greens.

After we put bundles together, we started putting them in the wire wreath forms that were provided and got to work!

We each had a station with our own machines.

There was even a helper there to show us newbies what to do.

Such a fun day spent making wreaths with the family!
I'd love to hear some of your family traditions, leave them in the comment section if you wish.

xoxo

What a neat idea! I have never heard of a workshop like this, but I will be on the hunt for one next year. What a fun tradition your parents have given your family - an event/activity each year to do together. Jane

Great and thoughtful idea!
Your parents are making memories with their children and that does sound fun.

My question is....what are you referring to when you say "machines"?

What a fun idea for a family project! Although I've lived in Whatcom or King County almost my entire life I'd never visited Christinason's Nursery until last summer! Still trying to get my husband down there as he would love those old greenhouse buildings :)

I made a fresh wreath with our garden club one year in November on a field trip. I was in awe of how easy it actually was with the right equipment. I made the biggest one possible! It was so heavy but it looks awesome on our front door. I love it how you mixed greenery that you brought as well. Liz
