~our holiday home tour 2015~

Thank you so much for visiting!
Welcome back to all you longtime readers, and welcome welcome to everyone coming here for the first time! I appreciate you taking the time to look through all my holiday home photos.
Thank you to Jen Rizzo for inviting me back to participate in this great blog tour again, and thank you to Joss and Main and Good Housekeeping Magazine for having us!

Didn't you just love Uncommon Slice Of Suburbias holiday tour?

I really didn't have any theme planned this year. In fact, most of my tubs of Christmas things got left in the attic. I was going for a less is more approach.

~Welcome to Crystal Lake and our little home~

I made this sign a few years ago and always have it out this time of year, duh :)

Let's start off the tour with the living room which is right through the french doors you see above.
I pulled out all of my vintage shiny brites and put them in various bowls.
To see how to make the silhouette art, go here.

This rocking horse is a new addition and I am obsessed with him!
You can find yours here.
The colors are gorgeous and chippy, much better in person than in my photos.

The mantle is simple with cedar garland and blue and white pottery.

The tree is a live one from Home Depot. After Christmas we will plant it outside.

To see how I made this faux zebra rug, go here.

Off the living room is the dining room.
I got some gorgeous new plates this year from Sasha Nicholas this year.
I love, love, love monograms, and anything gold, and these plates are gorgeous!
This room overlooks the lake and has floor to ceiling windows.
It gets great light.

These are the plates I got, with a black monogram.
The gold on the edge of them plays off the chargers, wine glasses, and silverware.
The red plates are actually from the Dollar Tree.
I am a huge believer in spending good money on pieces that you will have a long time, and not spending a lot on pieces you only use now and then.

Down the center of the table I added fresh greenery to a Pottery Barn garland I got years ago.

I picked up a bunch of brass candlesticks from the thrift store to go down the center as well.

Check out the back of the plates!
They have our names, and they also will do personalize it in your own handwriting.

The corner of the dining room has a festive bar cart.
The Merry sign is from the dollar spot at Target and I just made the lamps.
You can get the scoop on those here.
The 12 days of Christmas artwork is a download from Lindsay Letters here.
{on sale!}

Don't you just love the glow of candlelight?

Oh Holy Night canvas in the background from Vol. 25 and can be found here.

Just off the living room and dining room is the kitchen.
I painted another brushstroke lamp for in here too.

I added a few new {old} plates to the plate wall in coordinating colors.

Another vintage bowl holds a white poinsettia along with this amazing candle.

And I am loving this gold print that Minted sent to me!
The paper white pot is from Anthropologie.

The last room on the tour is our sons room and it just got updated with a little greenery for the season.

The birch bark vases are from here and I love them so much I might try to
 incorporate them all year.

I hope you have enjoyed our tour!
The next stop is My Golden Boys And Me, so be sure to check that out.

I will also be sharing another space with you on the 11th, so please come back to see more holiday decor!

xoxo

Hello Melaine: Your home, as always, looks beautiful! I love the birch vases and feel that you can leave them out year round. At our NH home, where birch trees are the state tree, I always have my birch candles out. Merry Christmas, Cindy
