~our new living room flooring~

We recently got all new floors in our house and I will be showing them here room by room.
I love, love, love them!
We went with a dark hand scraped engineered hardwood.
They will be very durable with our dogs and stand up nicely to everyday where and tear without scratching like real wood might.
Our carpet in this room was old and it was a horrible color.
It served us good over the years with babies and puppies, but it was time to go.

I also moved my new white cowhide in here and I just love how simple and clean everything looks!
Sources listed at the bottom of this post.

So, what else have I done in here since getting the new floors?
I sold the bench that was behind my couch so that it opened things up more.
I moved my vintage rug from the kitchen to the inside of the french doors in this room to prevent tracking in too much dirt.
I moved the old laundry cart from my sons room into here to serve as a place to hold all our throw blankets.
I revamped my console table to give us even more room. You can read about that here.
I switched out my big wood lamps for smaller blue and white ones that I "made"
Moved the white cowhide in and that's about it!

really beautiful but I thought you might want to know, the ads on all your images are covering the flooring in most of the pictuers ;( you have to close the ad on every image to see your beautiful flooring

Love the space, the floors are beautiful and perfect for your home! I know you didn't post a link to the flooring since it was purchased locally but could you share a little more info about it as it looks similar to one we have been looking at that is not engineered hardwood as yours but instead a laminate. We are trying to decide if we want a laminate or a engineered hardwood. Was this a decision you had as well? Did you install this yourselves and was it very difficult? Thanks for any info you share. Love those lamps too!

Your floors look amazing and I'm also interested in the type of flooring and the brand you used! I know you purchased locally, but wondering if you would share any info. I'm worried about scratches from the dog too!

I can visualise each and everything that you have said in the 'after' and 'before' manner...appreciate the makeover that you have given to your floors. Recently my mother-in-law has got new floors from Commercial flooring Brisbane and she wants to do a similar makeover like you did. The floorings are really amazing in itself, So I don't think she has to work more on the makeover. Will share your blog to her.
