~deck makeover hop with Joss and Main~

So excited to share with you today a little spring/summer spruce up we did recently on our deck.
If you are coming over from Rooms For Rent, welcome!
Didn't Bre do an amazing job?
Our deck was looking mighty sad.
Neglected all winter. The only time we ever really use it in the fall and winter is when we go in the hot tub, which is quite often.
Anyway, I partnered with Joss and Main and several other talented bloggers, as well as Country Living to bring to you our before and after spaces of our decks/patios.

This proves that it doesn't have to cost a fortune to update a boring outdoor space and make it look like an oasis.

Here was our deck before the mini makeover.
Neglected, dirty, cluttered, you get it.

It's big, about 800 square feet.
It has a table for outdoor eating, a hot tub like I said, my potting bench and some other misc. seating.
Nothing was really cohesive and the seating groupings were a little odd and the furniture was a little old.

I will be selling this table. I like it, but I like what we have now even more.
These chairs were left over from another set. They will now go behind our house around the fire pit.

The chairs with big cushions are super comfy but I am over the brown color.

So, I removed everything, cleaned it all up, and brought in the new!
I love, love, love these tables and chairs.
And here is the deal on them.
They are actually 2 sets that I put together.
You will see where I put the extra chairs later on.
I added the all weather wicker chairs to the ends so it wasn't so matchy matchy, and put my DIY zebra rug under the table. It can be hosed off which I love.

Even though I positioned the table in the same place as the old one, we have the choice if we want to, to break it up into 2 table groupings of 4 chairs each, and use the wicker chairs elsewhere.

Here is where I made another conversation area with the extra chairs.

A couple side tables/ottomans and there is a place to set drinks, food, and of course, fresh flowers!

I simplified the potting bench and just added the few pots that I need to plant, and watering cans which I use everyday this time of year.
A few of my favorite blue and white for color.

I am sure you see a few other new things here which I will be talking about on Monday, so please come back.

And now for a few side by side before and after photos for you:

you know it's going to be good!
