~easy DIY succulent monogram~

I know I am not the first to make one of these, but with fall quickly approaching I am thinking of ways to use succulents in my decor. The colors really seem fallish to me, and I just love them in general.
So, here is how I made a succulent monogram for our porch!

I started with this giant letter "T" from Hobby Lobby.
It was $29.99, but I used a 40% off coupon.
It's meant to go the other way, but when you flip it over it makes a nice surface with sides to plant in.

I already had some live succulents at home, but I picked up some faux ones while I was there for a little variety.
You can do all faux, all live, or mix them like I did.

I started with my faux succulents and hot glued them in place.
For the live ones, I simply added a little soil and tucked them in.
Start at one end and work your way to the other.

After everything is planted you can tuck moss in here and there to fill any gaps and also to keep things from moving around.

This project was a little time consuming, and not the most inexpensive, but I like how it turned out.
After the roots become established I will hang it outside our entry.

Happy Friday!
xoxo

I really like this. I wish I had initials where it would work.
