~fall farmhouse kitchen & scone recipe~

Welcome to our fall home tour!
My friend Kristen puts on this fabulous tour every year.
I just love taking a peek into others homes and seeing how they decorate for the seasons.
Over the next couple of months we will be sharing glimpses into different rooms in our homes.
I hope you come back and get some inspiration from our cozy spaces.

Today I will be sharing our kitchen and how we use it this time of year. At this end of this post, be sure to click on all the other links in the tour to see everyone else's fall kitchens and delicious recipes.

We do a lot of baking in the fall so I keep my large clear class canisters ready and filled with white sugar, flout, and powdered sugar.
I still have my favorite rug from this etsy seller out~it works color wise year round.

Super inexpensive dill weed from the grocery stores produce section is all I need this time of year!

And I got new counter stools!
I bought them off a friend but they are originally from here.
I like the fact that I can get 5 stools up to my bar now instead of 4, plus they are super comfy.
I also found them here.

Around the corner from the kitchen is the dining room which I will be sharing soon.

Butterfly print from here.

Our kitchen is a very casual place where we hang out.

The baking nook in the background is all decked out with with white ironstone, mixing spoons, and my kitchenaid mixer.
Still loving the Schumacher wallpaper in there!

Coffee in the morning and hot cocoa in the evenings are a must on chilly Seattle days!
I keep my mug rack stocked with these monogram mugs.

I just recently traded out some of the more colorful plates on my plate wall for this all white version.
Most of the plates and platters I have found at thrift stores.
The square ones are from here.

For more of our kitchen sources, including paint colors, click here.

Still loving the finish of the "no fade" door paint on our dutch door.
Even with the dogs jumping up on it, it still hasn't scratched.

And onto more important things~food!
As I mentioned, we love baking this time of year.
We also love breakfast food and could eat it morning, noon, and night.
I hope you enjoy our favorite scone recipe which is very basic but you can add whatever
you'd like to it.

My favorite scone recipe:

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by our kitchen tour!
Next room up on the tour  {September 13th} will be our dining room, can't wait to show you what I've done in there.
