~Christmas kitchen & peppermint bark recipe~

So much baking happens in our kitchen this time of year.
We love baking Christmas cookies, decorating gingerbread houses, and for us adults, sipping on holiday cocktails.

I wanted to show you how I decorate my kitchen for the holidays. I keep it pretty simple since we do bake and cook in there a lot.
I really just used greenery from trees outside in our yard and decorated with baked goods.
I did break out my grandparents wine glasses and beer steins.
I also finished off my place settings with my beloved Sasha Nicholas plates.

Barstools can be found here.
The wreath is fresh and from the grocery store.
Two pendants over the island are from here.
Demijohn can be found here.

This is the dining room which is around the corner.
I just got this bird print and LOVE it!

Standing at the kitchen door and looking the opposite direction into the dining room and the stairway leading to our mudroom/basement.
I made the art, and the instructions can be found here.
Preserved boxwood garland on stair railing can be purchased here.

I love a bit of glitz for the holidays so I added these glasses alongside my vintage ones from my grandparents.

I filled a vintage French jar with greens from the yard and placed it by the sink for a little bit of color.
I don't usually do a lot of red, but love it in little bits.

Another thing I am obsessed with this year is these little battery operated wiry rice lights, I literally put them everywhere! They are whimsical and dainty and elegant all at the same time!
You can find them here.
Turn all the lights off and leave these on, it's magical.

This $10 wreath is maybe one of my favorite things, it smells amazing.
And it dresses up the laundry room door nicely.

I mixed in our vintage Santa mugs with our everyday ones.
You can find replicas of the vintage mugs here.
The kids love having hot cocoa in them.

I also like to create a little dessert bar when we have company during the holidays, or when the kids have friends over.
Fun cookies, donuts, peppermint bark {recipe to follow}
spice cake, you name it!

And a few healthier options too.....

For the adults I like to set up a little champagne/bar tray.
I simply took a vintage silver tray and added a few sprigs of cedar.
More vintage glasses, a few bar accessories, vintage ornaments, a pine scented candle, and more lights.
Cocktail shaker can be found here.

And more oranges for color.

I even like to use gifts as part of the decor!

And now, how about my favorite peppermint bark recipe?
You can find it right here and it always impress' and tastes incredible.

Love your holiday kitchen! Question: the light fixture's link shows a single light not a double as yours is. Where to find the double one?

Hi Anonymous, I will do a tutorial soon but we used 2 lights and made them into one with pipe! Only one place up top with our skylight to tie it in!
