~transitioning to fall home tour~

Thank you for joining me in my friend Marty's fall home tour series!
There is 30 homes in this group, so if you don't find fall inspiration on these posts, I don't know where you will! There is something for every style.

Welcome for those of you coming from Haneens Haven
Isn't her home beautiful?

Fall is actually my favorite season.
But before I rush into skeletons and tombstones, I like to decorate with neutrals using natural elements like succulents, white pumpkins, and natural woods.

Shall we dive right in with our kitchen?
I kept things within the black and white color scheme, simply because those are my favorite colors to work with. I've added in wood tones for warmth and metal pieces for an industrial vibe.

I don't like a lot of clutter on the counters, so I opted for a couple white platters/trays on the island with a ceramic pear, white beads, a white candle, and some succulents I planted in a marble container.

Our coffee station pretty much stayed the same with the addition of a little black leather pumpkin.

Under the coffee station is the microwave and a place to store cookbooks.

I picked up this "blessed" wreath at HomeGoods and spray painted it white top pop against the chalkboard door.

Thankfully it's still been warm enough to leave the top on our dutch door open.

Moving onto the dining room!
This room has tall vaulted ceilings and gets a ton of light.
I love the play of modern and rustic in here with the mix of rough woods, metal, and sleek white lacquered cabinets.

The sideboard was really fun to style with simple items I had on hand, and a few pumpkins and cabbage from a quick trip to the grocery store.
This proves you don't have to spend a ton of money for seasonal decor.

Extra plates in one basket and a makeshift "bar" in the other.

The simple centerpiece is simply a a clear jar filled with mini pumpkins.

And for our final stop on the tour, the family room.

This is our main hang out space as we don't have a separate living room.
It opens up onto our deck and overlooks the lake. It has high vaulted ceilings as well and is open to the dining room.

One way I like to make things cozier is by layering rugs. I went tone on tone with the textured rug and the cream cowhide. It just adds that extra layer to make things feel cozier for fall and winter.

One fall pillow mixed in with our everyday pillows is all the couch needed.

I styled the shelves with more black and white and some wood pieces, as well as metal accents.

The gallery wall is made up of vintage photos from our neighborhood and framed in Ikea Ribba frames.

Books are my favorite accessory to decorate with. I normally have books in here with colorful bindings, but swapped those out with more neutral ones.
I always look at thrift stores and eBay for books, as well as amazon.

I love the contrast of the metal here with the wood beads.

Restoration Hardware catalogs make great free decor accessories!

I love your home, the tall ceilings, rock fireplace and of course that fabulous dutch door all make me smile. Your home just seems to invite you in to snuggle up and relax. Another favorite of mine is that fabulous large picture of your children in the dining area. Such a wonderful statement piece. Thanks tons for joining the tour, always a delight to visit.

What a classic and chic, subtle transition to fall. I just love it! Your breadboard and mums are so pretty! That little black pumpkin in the coffee station is pure perfection. I am a sucker for white pumpkins, so I love how you have added them here and there. Beautiful tour!

So happy to be joining you on the fall tours! Have a great fall!
