early summer home tour

I love peeking into other people homes to see how they decorate and live their lives.

So today is one of my favorites, because I not only get to take you on a tour of our home, but we also get to see a ton more great ideas from my friends that are joining in! So be sure to take a look at their spaces at the bottom of this post!

Summertime on the lake means a really relaxed lifestyle. We paddle board, we fish, we canoe, and swim. We work in the yard and spend as much time outdoors as we can. We frequently will have get togethers with friends and neighbors. It truly is one of my favorite times of the year.

I am splitting this home tour up into 2 parts as to not bombard you with a ton of photos! So stay tuned for part 2 coming soon.

This is Harley, one of our 3 labs. One of them, if not all, are sure to greet you at the door if you stop by. The dutch door makes for a perfect accessory in keeping our dogs in, or out.

Our house is almost cottage like, very rustic, but I like to keep it pretty clean and decorate with neutrals. Black and white are my favorite colors, which I am sure is obvious in my photos.

The couch {color is sugar shack ivory} might be my favorite spot. It is super deep, and feels like a bed. I spend a lot of time here!
I have had the gallery wall up for years now, it's also one of my favorite things.

You can find most items in our living room in this post if you are interested in anything specific, or about where to purchase items.

Our dining room looks out over the lake and gets a ton of light.
I have often thought about substituting the black cafe chairs with these, but I just love the contrast of these. And the fact that they are small means we can fit more friends around the table.

Switching to a round table was life changing really. It is so much friendlier to have conversation in a circle!

You can read more about our dining room here, as well as see it with a rectangular table.

The huge vase holding the lilacs was a TJ Maxx score!

A peek into our little hallway nook {which used to be a closet, I just removed the doors and put up shiplap}

This piece of furniture holds baskets and bins filled with gardening gloves, winter gloves, hats, and scarves. It also houses some of my decor books and even mail.

The mirror helps to visually open up the narrow space.

Hop on over and see some more beautiful interiors!

I love your house and your blog! I do think those new chairs from World Market would look amazing in your dining room. It would soften it up a bit and you seem to have plenty of room! Thanks for sharing your great ideas!
