Here are some tips I have for you so you can effortlessly create a stunning table for your guests.
STICK TO A COLOR SCHEME:
Pick 3-5 colors that you would like to use. I chose green, white, grey, black, and brown {wood tones}
You pick these colors easily by looking around your room and choosing from what you already have or lean towards.
My white plates and napkins tie in with the walls, art, and furniture in the room, while the grey and black tie in with the picture frames, chandelier, base of my table, and elements in the adjoining family room.
CREATE A SIMPLE CENTERPIECE WITH A CUTTING BOARD OR TRAY:
Create a wintery scene on a tray or cutting board in the center of your table. I have a round table, so I used a round cutting board, but you could use several rectangular boards on a long skinny table.
Look to nature and cut some clippings of cedar to use as a base. If you don't have any, faux clippings work just as well.
Layer on Christmas trees, candles, ornaments, or anything else you have. I finished mine off with a sprinkling of fresh cranberries.
MAKE EACH GUEST FEEL SPECIAL:
I am always talking about little gifts to send home with guests. But you don't have to spend a lot of money to make them feel special. Hand letter name cards for them, or tie up their napkin with a simple ornament.
CASUAL OR FORMAL?
If this is a casual occasion, use mason jars for drinking glasses. Fun paper straws, or silly holiday napkins.
If this is a more formal event, break out the stemware, cloth napkins, dim the lights and light those candles. I also like to have Christmas music playing softly in the background.
I found these fun galvanized bells and hung them from the chandelier for a whimsical touch.
