our dining room Christmas tree

Welcome to this years home style blog hop: Christmas Tree Edition! You can start the hop from the beginning right here on Casa Watkins Living.
I love seeing different ways people decorate their trees, so I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.
If you follow all the links to the different trees, you will find a variety of styles to inspire you.

If you are coming over from The Honeycomb Home, welcome!
I love Roxanne's home and Christmas tree!

This year I bought a new tree and set it up in our dining room.

This tree is sparkly, whimsical, and has a tiny bit of vintage charm.

I love the extra sparkle it adds in there and it is the perfect size. I really recommend this tree if you are looking for something not too big, and not to spendy. The branches are spaced perfectly for ornaments to hang nicely, and it isn't to fake looking.

I searched high and low for a unique container to put the tree in, and after an exhausting search, I ended up using a round storage ottoman from my sons room.
It's the perfect size and it hides the stand.

I put a white faux fur tree skirt inside to hide everything even better.

Instead of regular lights, I went for a more whimsical look and added 3 boxes of these lights.

I pulled all my silver ornaments out of the attic and filled it full of sparkles.

Here are some similar ones to get the look:

mercury glass

clear glass balls

wooden bead garland

silver ball ornaments

Adding the tree to this corner of our room has brightened it up so much and it looks so magical at night.

I will change out the wall saying soon, but for now, stay warm and cozy still works!
Tutorial on how I did this right here.

Sticking to a color scheme on your tree elevates the look and keeps it from looking too busy.
Be sure to add in different textures within your colors. Keep your surroundings in mind when picking your color scheme too.

I took cues from my artwork, lamp and table, as well as the wall color.

I can't wait for it to start snowing. Our house has a ton of windows and you truly feel like you are inside of a snow globe!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Please continue the tour and hop on over to Cuckoo4Design and see her eclectic European inspired tree!
