But I do love keeping things picked up and I like everything to have a place and purpose.
I don't like extra clutter, and I like things to look neat and tidy.
We have lived in this home for 22 years and over all that time I have found some organizing methods that have worked great, and some that haven't.
Today you are in luck because myself, along with some other blogging friends, are going to show you our favorite organizing methods!
These are in no particular order, but here we go!
Baskets in the laundry room.
I made these shelves for our laundry room and placed a big wicker basket on each one.
I like to be able to grab the whole basket full of bathroom cleaning supplies and take it with me while I am moving from bathroom to bathroom.
I also just think it is a much cleaner look to keep things in baskets and it keeps items from getting knocked off shelves or falling over.
TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Ikea are my favorite place to find baskets.
Another thing I like to keep hidden and off the floor in the laundry room are fire extinguishers and batteries. This battery rack has been a life saver. We used to have batteries in a drawer and it was such a pain to try and find one. This is so much better! The one we have is no longer available but I linked up to a similar one.
Unfortunately we have had to use these fire extinguishers more than once, but I can't imagine what would've happened if we didn't have them. Keeping them on the wall like these makes them easily accessible which is so important when you are dealing with a fire.
Floating shelves are another way I keep our coffee nook organized.
Along with a tray and bottles for my espresso syrups, everything needed for a good latte is right here!
To keep things cohesive in our glass front kitchen cabinets I use all white dishes. Some are old ironstone pieces, some are from the Dollar Tree, some are from the thrift store, and some are from Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel. Nothing has to match if they are the same color.
I also only keep dishes in here that we use everyday.
In our pantry I like to use wide mouth mason jars with these white lids. Then I use my old school label maker on them. It makes finding things so much easier, and it keeps the foods fresh longer.
Besides that, black and white is just cute.
I love any storage container that is galvanized metal. I found these here although I don't think they have them anymore. They do have these which are also really cool.
This might have been my favorite organizing post of 2019!

I used my trusty label maker here too!
Trays are not only good for organizing, but they are stylish too!
I use trays literally in every room, sometimes out in the open, sometimes behind closed doors.
Wall baskets were another find this past year. I used them in our laundry room and in our pantry. Don't forget to utilize your walls for organizing and storage bins!
Vintage pieces, totes and crates are another good alternative to a tray or basket.
I like using divided ones for bottles.
I hope you found some good ideas for decorating and organizing!
