our summer home tour

Hello and welcome to our summer home tour, 2020!
Are you coming from Dannyelle's blog? I just love her creativity!

Today I hope you find a bit of inspiration or some decorating ideas for yourself. There are so many different styles in these home tours, you are sure to find something that catches your eye.
If you want to see my summer tour last year, click here.

If you are new here, I'd like to introduce myself.
I am Melaine, mother of 2 kids, Savannah who is 21, and Cody who is 17.
I married my high school sweetheart and we bought this house 22 years ago on the lake that he grew up on. We have been fixing it up and making it ours ever since. I love to share DIY ideas and sources from our home to inspire you all! To go to the product links, simply click on the bold type word.

We don't have a formal entryway. In fact our front door leads right into the kitchen, where we will start this tour.

It has had a couple updates over the years. I think my favorite thing about this room is the marble counters, and my coffee station.

We "made" our kitchen pendant lighting, which you can read about here. We used 2 of these lights.

Our bar has a little mini fridge for drinks, which I love because it frees up room in our regular refrigerator.

I like to keep the counters clutter free and just have necessities out like cookware, cookbooks, paper towels, and fresh flowers. Yes, fresh flowers are a necessity!

And here is the coffee station and pantry. The coffee station also is where our microwave is and extra cookbooks are stored here.

You can find the items I used in my coffee station right here.

Off of the kitchen is our living room and dining room, all one big space.
You can see some of the sources for our living room in this post.

In the summer months I like to switch out the pillows on the couch to lighter brighter ones.
You can find the striped one here and the subtle floral one here.

The lighting in this room took me a while to get right, but I love the combination of our floor lamps, table lamps and chandelier.

We recently got a frame tv and I love how it looks like art more than a tv with a big black screen. I have had fun rotating different pictures on it.

This gallery wall has pictures of our neighborhood dating back to the early 1900's.

Off of the living room is our deck which I just shared here.

In our sons room I just had the ceiling painted the same as the walls for a bit of a cozier look.
I really like how it turned out.
If you are interested, you can find all the sources for his room right here in this post.

This wall in our hallway is very special to me. It's filled with family photos of our kids over the years and some other mementos.

And here at the end of the hall is the master bedroom.

The walls in here are called graphite. My fairly new bed is so great and super affordable.

I will always have white bedding, no matter what time of year. It's so fresh and clean to me and I can easily switch out the throw pillows.

As you can see, I tried a couple different combinations in here. Which do you prefer? The dots or the solid mud cloth?

One thing I will probably always have on there are these euro pillows.

This is our daughters room. She is in college and only here part time.
I love her room so much and if it had an ensuite, I'd make it the master!

Her room is large enough to hold a king size bed unlike ours. Her bed is a steal of a deal. You can find it here.

All the other sources for her room can be found here.

Our basement is a hodge podge of a mudroom, storage for sports equipment, and home to our bunny, as well as a space for our 3 labs.

You can read more about our basement here.

The ski lift chair was a gift given to my husband over 25 years ago from a ski resort that he used to go to. The map behind it is one of our favorite ski areas.

Thank you again for taking the time to tour our home! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to leave them in the comment section or dm me on Instagram.

This week, some of my blogging friends and I are sharing our summer home tours. Just click on the links below the images to be taken to see their full posts. Sharing with me today....

And sharing the rest of this week...

Be sure to head to All Things With Purpose where you will see just how much creativity went into her tiny space. So inspiring!

xoxo, Melaine

Such a fabulous home - I love your style and can't want to decorate our lake house with a similar feel - light and bright with wood and black!

I always adore your tours. I think the ski lift seat is the coolest thing I have ever seen.

I love your home, especially for Summer. I love the black and white with wood tones. That gallery wall above your sofa is so pretty! I pinned a few images to share on my Summer board. So much inspiration. I hope you are feeling better since your operation.
