I am already thinking about fall and winter and I wanted to share with you a kit I put together for my car, just in case of an emergency.
I always like to have emergency kits for not only our house but the car as well. Our backyard sits on a fault line. I am not super paranoid, but I do want to be prepared in case of an emergency.
Same goes for the car. I will admit that I am not a very good driver in the snow. If I happen to become stranded in the cold, I want to be prepared. Chances are I will never have to use this emergency kit, but you never know, 2020 has been a crazy year and I am not taking any chances.
I put this entire kit together with Amazon {not sponsored} Click on the bold type words to take you to the product page.
I started with this tote. Actually 2 of them. They are divided which I liked. Plus I like the fact they clip in so they don't slide around. Then I filled them with these items.
Top 10 Things You Need in Your Car Emergency Kit:
1. First aid kit
2. Jumper cables
3. Flashlight and extra batteries
4. Warm blanket {I bought this electric car blanket}
5. Water
6. Unsalted nuts and other pre packaged, high protein foods with a long shelf life
7. Multipurpose utility tool {I bought this shovel and pick set}
8. Duct tape
9. Reflective triangles
10. Rain poncho
You can certainly add more or cater it more to your area/weather conditions.
I did add a few things last minute like a waterproof pad of paper, a pen, scissors, a large water bottle with lid, tea light candles, matches {which I will replace with emergency matches, some hand sanitizer, and clorox wipes.
I have to say, I feel a lot safer already and more prepared to be out on the roads this fall and winter.

I hope you create your own car emergency kit for winter, or anytime of the year for that matter!
Stay safe, Melaine
