our early fall home tour

I am keeping things light and bright inside this year for when it gets dark and dreary outside.

Typically Fall decor is filled with earth tones, but I have done the exact opposite this year.

I love earth tones and tons of leaves and pumpkins, don't get me wrong. But this is just what is feeling right to me this year so far.

I hope you can gather some inspiration from pictures of our home, our projects and ideas, and walk away with some new ideas for your own home.

My color palette this year is filled with cream, white, grey, black and hits of brown in woods, as well as bits of salmon, sage green, and marine blue.

A few leather pumpkins and dahlias from a friend were added to our everyday decor on the dining room sideboard.

This huge mirror is fairly new and is one of my favorites. You get so much beauty for so little money.
You can find it here if you are interested.

I did have my walls painted recently because they were so messed up from years of putting holes in them.
I did decide to put the wall letters back up and I am so glad I did. You can see how to make them in this post here.

Lamp light is also one of my favorites when it gets dark out, I have multiples in every room.

This one looks like concrete, but without the weight.

For the tabletop centerpiece I used a bowl I already had, placed a glass vase and

battery operated candle in the center, then filled the gaps with pinecones from the yard.

The blackened teak tray holds a fun pumpkin bowl, and another mini leather pumpkin.

Each place setting is grounded with a log slice charger plate. I used my everyday white dishes to layer on top. A black cloth napkin ran through a mug handle finishes it off.

And a little mini white pumpkin from the grocery store to add that Fall touch.

Moving onto the living room which is right off the dining room.

This room gets a lot of use. We watch movies in here, football of course in the Fall, and have birthday parties, Christmas morning, etc. here.

I want this room to feel relaxed, lived in, inviting, and cozy.

Pretty much the only color in here comes from greenery. I have a mix of faux eucalyptus in this vase, (a HomeGoods score) as well as real.

On the end table I have an aloe plant which doesn't scream Fall, but I like it anyway.

A simple stack of some of my favorite home decor books, a box that holds the tv remote, chapstick, etc. and a little pumpkin finish off the coffee table.

On the shelving I kept going with the black, white, grey, white, and creams.

But I did add a fun air plant which I hope I don't kill. It is so curly and fun to shape and wrap around things, like you guessed it, another white pumpkin.

By the way, that Abode book is really good!

The last room I want to show you today is our kitchen.

The runner has all the right colors for my color palette.

Not too mention it goes perfectly with my flowers, ha!

Our kitchen island is huge but I like to keep it clutter free.

Typically I would put items together in a tray, but since this is the kitchen, I used an old wood bread board instead.

Filled it up with snacks and a lot of clear glass to keep things light and airy.

Our coffee nook is really simple with a few more white pumpkins.
If you'd like to read more about our coffee nook, click here.

Under the coffee nook is our microwave, and under that I store cookbooks in this flea market wood tote.

Next to the coffee bar, is the real bar.

Since this used to be an old desk area, I am still trying to figure out what to do with the space where the chair would normally go.
I have a few thoughts and I will be sure to update you all when and if I decide to make something.

For now, an old bucket is used for a trash can, and all my old breadboards hide cords.

These 2 trays were made for me by Aronson Woodworks and I am obsessed!
Go check out their page and all their beautiful pieces, you will be amazed.

That's all from me today and the little pieces of our home.
I hope you enjoyed our little tour.

I'm drooling over every single inch of your home. LOVELY tour. I adore your fireplace and all the neutral colors you've used this year. The blush dahlias, that lamp. Love. I also just put that book on hold. I can't wait to read it.

I say remove upper desk area cabinets and add a floating reclaimed wood shelf across entire counter. and as far as empty chair area replicate the lower cabinet doors in that space.
