easy DIY wheat centerpiece

Today I am going to show you how to make an elegant and easy wheat centerpiece.

Let's get started!
I started out with a glass vase I got at the thrift store for $1.99.

For reference my container is 6" diameter.

Then I got bundles of wheat from Trader Joes. They are $2.99 a bundle and I used 4 for this project.

You will also need a pretty ribbon. I got this gorgeous velvet ribbon and I love the color and the elegance it adds to this centerpiece.

Get your hot glue gun heating up, you are going to wrap your container with wheat.

Run lines of glue the length of your container and press a piece of wheat into it until secure.
Continue around the container until you have gone all the way around.

After  you've attached the wheat all the way around, add a rubber band where your ribbon will go.

Tie the ribbon in a knot or bow in the front.

You can leave it as it, or you can add any extra wheat in the center of your vase to make it extra full.

And that is it!

An easy DIY wheat centerpiece that will last for years and look great from early fall through until winter.

I used some blue linen napkins that tied in the ribbon color on my table, set up with my everyday white dishes.

White pumpkins scattered around add to the natural Fall feel.

You can make these any size you want.

You can even use empty toilet paper rolls, or an empty paper towel roll.

That is exactly what I did when I made these for a client.

By the way, I love these under cloches!

And because her table is long, unlike mine which is round, I chose to do several of them running down  the middle. The cloche in the middle is larger than the ones on the end.

This is the ribbon I used on hers.
