This recipe for soft and chewy molasses gingersnaps has been passed down generations!

  • 3 sticks butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 scant teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 2 t cinnamon
  • 2 t cloves
  • 2 t ginger


  1. Blend in a mixer and form into balls. Roll each ball into a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. 
  2. Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 9 minutes.
  3. Take out while still gooey, and let cool on cookie sheet.

** Updated to say that you will need ADDITIONAL cinnamon and sugar to roll them in**

These are seriously the best cookies you will ever eat, ever. End of story.
