One thing I particularly enjoyed playing with was the spin art machine. If you aren't familiar with them, it's basically a plastic contraption that you stick a piece of paper in, turn it on, and while it spins, you add drops of paint. When it's done spinning you get all these cool looking designs. You can mix all sorts of colors or just do one color.
Fast forward to present day, well, a couple weeks ago actually, and I got to thinking about that spin art machine. My mom, who lets just say, likes to hold onto her treasures, said she still had it when I called to ask her about it.
Being in quarantine and looking for ways to fill my time, I drove over and picked it up. I messed around with it by myself for a while and then by around noon or 1 when my teenage and grown kids decided to roll out of bed, they jumped in on the fun too.
It actually turned out to be a really fun afternoon of creating!
We had so much fun in fact that I decided to take a poll on my Instagram and have everyone vote for their favorites.
This one, Cody's, turned out to be everyones favorite.
Then I got to thinking even further and I remembered seeing somewhere along the line, Leanne Ford used a spin art in one of her designs. She had enlarged it really big and it was the most simple graphic piece of art and I loved it!
So, it was then that I decided to enlarge Cody's piece of spin art as well. We needed a new summer-y piece for our dining room and it seemed perfect!
For large photo printing I always turn to mpix. I find they have the best color quality and if you need a tweak or two color or size wise, they are always really great to bounce ideas off of.
So Cody's little 4x4" piece of art was enlarged to 28x36" and mounted on mat board.
I think it is so perfect for this spot and so much more special because Cody made it.
Now, before you go any further.....
Head over to my Instagram where I am holding a giveaway today, where you can be entered to win an enlargement up to 24x36 mounted on mat board or foam board from mpix!
If you want to grab either of the images below and save them to your computer {thank you Cody} you can print them out to display, or you can create your own!
Aren't they so fun?
