shopping for recliners that don't look like recliners

Let's shop for recliners that don't look like recliners!

Let me tell you. My husband LOVES his recliner.

Like loves loves.

I guess there really is a reason why recliners have been so popular for more than 200 years!

I will admit, they are super comfortable.

They hug your body and let you reline while still being cushioned.

Some even have heat and massage options!

While I can admit all the good things about recliners, when my husband first told me it was a "requirement" in our living room, my design brain just about died.

I was picturing my Grandpas lazy boy with plaid fabric and a clunky base.

Well, thank goodness, recliners have come a long way.

We looked at many recliners when we were out shopping.

Make sure you read all the way to the end of this post where you will see them all.

We ended up purchasing 2 of the Pottery Barn Irving leather recliners {in statesville molasses which was an in stock color}

We've had them for about 4-5 years now and we love them.

They honestly don't look like recliners, yet they have all the comfort of a good recliner.

My husband loves it because the back lies almost flat when it is reclined.

Unfortunately our fur babies have beaten these up. We replaced one with a swivel chair, but the other one needs to be replaced at this point.

I honestly would buy another one in a heartbeat, and I just may, but I am looking at all my options.

Would you like to shop with me for recliners?

Lets take a look at some I am looking at, and maybe you'll find something you'll love too!

Since we purchased the Pottery Barn recliners, our style has turned a bit more modern. So I have been really looking {and wanting} an Eames lounge chair, but I am not sure if we have the space for a chair + ottoman. Lucky you if you do, they are gorgeous!

This Wells recliner also swivels. I have purchased the Wells chair so many times for clients and everyone LOVES them. If you've never sat in one, head to your local Pottery Barn and sink in. The curved back literally hugs your body. I would love this recliner in our home, but the back doesn't recline as far as my husband would like. But if that doesn't matter to you, this would be a great choice!

I'm seriously considering this one. I like the color and the look. It's very inexpensive so I figure if it isn't comfortable I can always use it in another room.

I like this one in the color Sofsations black. I like the modern straight arms and lines. It's genuine leather which is a bonus too.

This mid century modern one is gorgeous but I don't dare do fabric with my dogs.....

If you don't have pets that will get up on it, this might be a good one for you, it's beautiful!

I hope if you are in need for one of these, that this post will help narrow down your selections!

xoxo, Melaine
